“Butterbritches” is a song dedicated to a very close friend of mine….well, his dog actually. Written about 5 years ago, I wanted to immortalize not only one of my favorite pups, but also one of the best names for an animal (or human) I’ve ever heard: Captain Bear Butterbritches (yes, that is his full legal name). This did not make the final album cut, however the happy, upbeat, New Orleans-style party theme seems like something we could all use a dose of right now. This also puts my dog-themed songs up to a count of about 5. I’m sensing another sort of album soon….
